Who We Are About the AMBA and SMMBC
The Show Me Mustang & Burro Club (SMMBC) is the newly formed Missouri Chapter of the American Mustang & Burro Association, Inc, a 501(c)3 not for profit organization founded in 1981.
The AMBA and its chapters are dedicated to the protection and preservation of wild equine, to public education, awareness, and adopter support. AMBA and its chapters throughout the United States work with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to achieve mutual goals.
SMMBC is committed to upholding these ideals through appearances at BLM adoption events, Equine shows and expos, and through our own Chapter hosted events. Our Chapter consists of BLM volunteers, and experienced mustang adopters and trainers. We are available to offer support and mentoring to new and would-be adopters in Missouri. If travel is feasible, Chapter members will attempt to visit new adopters (by request) to offer hands-on assistance. Some members are experienced Mustang trainers and take horses in for training.
